Our Birch plywood sand trays are designed to provide an ideal sand play experience. The coved interior rim has aesthetic and functional qualities, allowing your palm and thumb a comfortable grip while lifting the tray to reset the sand. The interior cove also allows the spheres to make full contact with the sand surface, avoiding the border margin that results when rolling a sphere up against a box with vertical walls.

Care Instructions

 

  1. Fill sand no higher than the inner lowest lip of the tray (somewhere between ⅛”-¼” depth). Designs are more consistent and crisp in shallow sand. 
  2. Swirl and jiggle your tray to smooth the sand surface. We recommend our sliders or gliders for best protection and ease in clearing your sand.
  3. Side angle lighting best shows sand texture shadows. Ideally set your Wonderscape close enough to a lamp or window to reveal nice shadow-play.
