What are sensory therapy tools?
Sensory therapy tools are often described as objects, materials, or activities that engage one or more senses, such as touch, sight, sound, movement, pressure, or body awareness. In professional settings, these tools may be part of a broader therapeutic, educational, or occupational therapy plan.
Outside of those settings, people may use similar language to describe tactile objects they personally enjoy using at a desk, in a classroom, at home, or in a quiet space. The important distinction is that an object can be sensory in nature without being a prescribed tool, clinical therapy product, or medical device.
